Which Bible Application should I download?

Before you download any file please clarify with your Mobile phone manufacture or vendor to check if the phone atleast supports Java Applications and if it does you may proceed to download the appropriate file for your Mobile phone.

Please make note that the files that are in the Full_Bible_Applications folder are only for phones that do not have any Java Application size limitations. I have tested these applications only on some Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Samsung Phones. Samsung phones although they do support Java Applications have a number of limitations. I would be really greatful if someone using a Samsung phone and try the Bible applications and let me know if it worked or not.

Most Sony Ericsson phones support the Full Bible as as single application except the S & J series Sony Ericsson phones. Almost all Nokia Phones running on S60 and above OS support the Full Bible as a single Application.

If you are using a basic Sony Ericsson or a Nokia S30 or S40 series phone, you would have to download and use the split bibles in the Split_Bible_Applications folder. In this folder I have split the Old Testament and the New Testament into seperate applications. The New Testament files will work on all Java enabled mobile phones and phones that support Java applications including Nokia S30 and S4 series phones(Tested only on Nokia and Sony Ericsson). The Single Old Testament files will not work on Nokia S30 and S40 series phones. For the S30 and S40 series Nokia phones please download the Split Old Testament files that are labeled (OT1, OT2, OT3, OT4) as the suffixes.

If you have a Touch Screen Phone that supports Java Applications you can download and install the files in the Touch_Screen_Bibles folder. These applications will not run on Windows based phones and Korean or Chinese Touch-screen Phones.

If you are still not sure which file you need download please try the smaller files first to check if they work. If they do not work please get back to me with the model number and make of the mobile phone. I will do my best to assist you.

Java Based Bibles for Touch Screen Phones

I have uploaded Java bible applications for Touch Screen mobile phones that are Java and MIDP2 enabled. They can be downloaded from

The assigned keys and Touch Settings are,

Tap Center of the Screen :- Opens MAIN MENU
Tap Bottom Left :- LINE UP
Tap Bottom Right :- LINE DOWN
Tap Top Left :- PAGE UP
Tap Top Right :- PAGE DOWN
Tap Top Center :- Opens BOOK LIST (Please tap only once as it takes 5 secs to respond)
Tap Bottom Center :- Opens CHAPTER LIST (Please tap only once as it takes 5 secs to respond)
Tap Left Center :- Opens BOOKMARKS MENU
Tap Right Center :- Opens FIND MENU

If the Phone also has number keys the assigned numbers are,

Link to the Bible Applications

I have uploaded the Mobile Java Bible applications onto esnips. In the Folder labeled Full_Bible_Applications, I have uploaded all the Bibles that will work as a single Java application on the mobile phone. The files with the search prefixing the Bible Version has the full bible text included to carry out searches in the entire bible. The link to the folder is given below.

In the folder labeled Split_Bible_Applications. I have split the Bible into Old and New Testaments so that it will work on mobile phones that have Java application size limitations. Nokia S30 and S40 series phones do not support large java applications hence I have Split the Bibles into The Books of Moses, Historical Books, Wisdom of Books and the Prophetical Books. What does this blog contain?

The Entire Bible on a mobile phone might sound a bit unrealistic. Now it is available and you can take advantage of it. Feel free to pass it on to your friends and family. I would like to thank TequilaCat who created the shell using which the Java bible modules have been created. Since I started using these applications I can read and meditate on God's word at any time and at any place. It has blessed me greatly and I believe that it will bless you too.

This blog contains links to bible applications that can be used on Java based mobile phones that are MIDP2 enabled and also Nokia phones that support Java applications(Will work fine on Nokia S60 phones and above. There are some limitations when using S30 and S40 series phones). The bible text used in these applications have been obtained from the Internet and can also be read directly at www.biblegateway.com.
